Overview

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is a large, community‑based behavioral health organization offering a comprehensive range of evidence‑based services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day clinical and administrative supervision to program staff.
  • Direct the administrative organization of the program, including case‑load assignment and coverage schedule.
  • Plan, train and supervise staff in the delivery of mental health and substance use services.
  • Counsel individuals and/or families with empathy and concern.
  • Develop and deliver staff training based on program and staff needs.
  • Meet annual performance requirements.
  • Adhere to Rutgers compliance standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience

Master’s degree in an appropriate mental health discipline plus four years of post‑graduate experience in a relevant field.

Certifications and Licenses
  • Required clinical license as per discipline and New Jersey Department rules (e.g., LCADC, LPC, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist).
  • Active New Jersey certification for Social Work applicants.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Own vehicle for community outreach and staff monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • LCADC preferred.
  • Experience with community‑based service provision.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
Physical Demands
  • Frequent listening and communication with individuals, groups, and over the phone.
  • Ability to speak clearly and hear; requires hearing.
  • Must document using a computer.
  • Mostly sitting, driving, walking, standing; able to lift, bend, and climb stairs.
  • Significant driving in varied conditions throughout the community.
