Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Center for the Environment. The role coordinates a broad community of researchers and partners to expand interdisciplinary environmental research and to manage key programs such as the collaboration hub and research accelerator.

You will design and execute student and faculty facing programs and events, supervise interns, monitor budgets, and prepare data reports for decision-makers in the Center for the Environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with center staff and partners to design, plan and execute student and faculty facing programs and events supporting the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub, research accelerator, and signal booster functions.
• Provides project management services to multi-stakeholder teams on grant proposals and research projects; coordinates recruitment and engagement tracking.
• Monitors budgets, identifies resource needs, and influences funding allocation for implementing the programs.
• Prepares reports and collects data to inform decisions of key stakeholders in the Center for the Environment.
• Supervises student interns on specific projects.

Program Coordinator – Center for the Environment

The program coordinator engages a broad community of researchers and partners to expand the scope and scale of interdisciplinary environmental research at WashU, in order to address society’s deepest environmental challenges. This role does that by managing key programs of the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub, and research accelerator functions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Collaborates with center staff and partners to design, plan and execute student and faculty facing programs and events that support the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub, research accelerator, and signal booster functions. These programs include but are not limited to the center’s:
   • Summer Undergraduate Research Program.
   • Environmental Graduate Student Community.
   • Topical research collaboration and professional development workshops.
2. Provides project management services to multi-stakeholder teams on grant proposals and research projects. Supports the center’s Scholar Program. Coordinates the recruitment of WashU researchers into the program and tracks their engagement in center activities.
3. Monitors budgets, identifies resource needs, and influences funding allocation necessary for implementing the programs that this position manages.
4. Prepares reports and collects data to inform decisions of key stakeholders in the Center for the Environment.
5. Supervises student interns on specific projects.
