Job summary

GMV YMCA BTW Community Center is seeking a Program Coordinator to develop and manage high‑quality branch programs in Hamilton, OH. This role reports to the Program Director and supports YMCA initiatives with strong communication and leadership.

The position may be part‑time or full‑time, with evening and weekend hours as needed. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and has 2+ years of program experience, especially in nonprofit settings.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Two or more years of program experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit.
  • Proven ability to develop authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to collaborate with community organizations and families.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all aspects of the assigned program(s).
  • Maintains budget and tracks expenditures related to the program.
  • Maintains communication with staff and program participants.
  • Maintains records (attendance, progress reports, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and safety procedures; handles incident reports.
  • Schedules and facilitates required trainings and meetings.
  • Maintains program equipment and participates in outreach and engagement initiatives.
  • Assists with program activities as needed.

Title: Program Coordinator BTW
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly

Wage: $15/hour
Status: Part-Time or Full-Time
Reports to: Program Director

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the assigned Program Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing high-quality branch programs.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all aspects of the assigned program(s).
  • Maintains budget and tracks expenditures and transactions related to the program.
  • Maintains communication with staff and program participants of the assigned program(s).
  • Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
  • Assures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that program and membership standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  • Models relationship-building in all interactions.
  • Schedules, attends, and facilitates, as needed, all required training, in-services, and branch and association meetings.
  • Maintains all program equipment, including proper usage and storage of any program materials.
  • Supports all branch and association-wide membership retention and engagement initiatives including annual giving campaign efforts.
  • Assists with program activities as needed.
Qualification:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Two or more years of program experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with families, children, and other staff
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Commitment to working with youth and understanding their development needs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
