Job description

The University of Nevada, Reno’s Extension Office is recruiting for a 4-H Civic Engagement, Leadership & Expressive Arts youth Program Coordinator in Las Vegas, NV. The Program Coordinator works with youth ages, 5-18, provides comprehensive administrative oversight and support for program operations, including coordinating events, managing documentation, maintaining databases, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. They serve as the primary point of contact for program inquiries, facilitating communication between stakeholders, participants, and leadership while developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners. The Coordinator implements educational and recreational strategies to promote program visibility, manages recruitment efforts, and coordinates program activities including orientations, meetings, and special events. They are responsible for collecting and analyzing program data, preparing assessment reports, tracking outcomes, and making recommendations for program improvements based on evaluation findings. Additionally, the Coordinator takes on special projects as assigned, assists with budget monitoring, and provides general support to ensure the successful implementation of program initiatives and achievement of objectives.

The 4-H Positive Youth Development Program Coordinator focuses on the integration of curriculum to support teaching students about various areas of civic affairs, building decision-making skills and connecting to others. Program areas include leadership and personal development, community action and service, and communication and expressive arts. 4-H programming is delivered in various modes: 4-H clubs (community, in-school, after-school, and military), afterschool programs, school-based programs, special interest groups or short-term programs, overnight camping, day camping, and individual study.
