Georgetown University is seeking a Program Coordinator to advise students and organizations within the Center for Student Engagement, developing leadership training and campus-life programming. The role includes supporting the Advisory Board for Club Sports and GOLD programs, and delivering diverse training initiatives with high collaboration across university groups.

The position reports to the Associate Director of Student Engagement, supervising three Graduate Assistants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in student activities or student affairs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication/writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office suites, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to provide light to moderate on-site support for student programs.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students and student organizations in programming, leadership development, and training initiatives.
  • Design and deliver departmental leadership programs and training (travel, hazing education, etc.).
  • Support the Advisory Board for Club Sports and GOLD programs; coordinate with related student organizations.
  • Lead and supervise three Graduate Assistants and collaborate with the Associate Director of Student Engagement.

Our community is a close-knit group of remarkable individuals driven by intellectual inquiry, a commitment to social justice, and a shared dedication to making a difference in the world.RequirementsJob OverviewThe Program Coordinator will work with staff in the Center for Student Engagement to advise students and student organizations in programming, organizational and leadership development, design and implement training initiatives, along with design programs to involve students in campus life and co-curricular learning experiences.This position directly advises the Advisory Board for Club Sports and the Georgetown Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) administrative and pre-orientation programs, as well as a subset of Student Activities Commission member organizations, and their associated activities, and is responsible for designing and delivering the department’s leadership programs, training initiatives (travel, hazing education and prevention, etc), and the Blueprint Student Organization training.The Center for Student Engagement is a fast paced, student-centered environment. Student contact is extensive and substantive. Staff members work collaboratively within the office and with many other university-wide constituent groups. Staff members are expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and independent judgment and to work irregular and sometimes long hours.Work InteractionsThis position reports to the Associate Director of Student Engagement. This position supervises three Graduate Assistants. This position works closely with the Associate Director in advising student organizations.Requirements and QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree1-3 years of experience working in student activities, student advising, student affairs, etcExcellent organizational skills, combined with strong communication and writing skillsAbility to prioritize work with a strong attention to detailDemonstrated flexibility in a dynamic work environmentFamiliarity with the Google and Microsoft Office suites, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft ExcelExcellent interpersonal skillsHigh level of professional and polished communicationAbility to perform light to moderate physical activity and to provide physical support on site to student programs on an occasional basis.Preferred Experience:Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related fieldFamiliarity with working in college club sport programs or athleticsExperience in a diverse, high intensity academic environmentFamiliarity with GMS/WorkdayFamiliarity with Campus Groups or other student engagement platformsFamiliarity with financial and human resource management toolsSupervision experienceDemonstrated experience in logistical oversight or administrative supportWork Mode DesignationThis position has been designated as On-Campus.
