Job summary

Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) in Mount Pleasant, NY, is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead our residential programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will oversee daily operations, promote person-centered supports, and ensure high-quality, compliant service delivery.

Responsibilities include supervising Residence Managers, guiding staff development, coordinating intake and discharge, and analyzing outcomes to improve programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years in supervisory roles within OPWDD/OCFS residential programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OPWDD regs, standards and best practices.
  • Proven leadership, management, and team-building experience.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily operations of residential programs with regulatory compliance.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Residence Managers and staff.
  • Participate in intake, screening, admission, and discharge processes.
  • Promote person-centered planning and individualized supports and Life Plans.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities: observations, records, audits, outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, families, and partners to meet resident needs.
  • Monitor programming to promote independence, inclusion, dignity and achievement.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and developing residential staff.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Program Coordinator to provide leadership and oversight for our residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining quality care standards, supporting employees, and fostering meaningful outcomes for the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee the daily operations of residential programs, ensuring effective service delivery and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Residence Managers and program staff.
  • Participate in the intake, screening, admission, and discharge processes for individuals entering residential services.
  • Promote person-centered planning and ensure the implementation of individualized supports, Life Plans, and related service documentation.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities, including program observations, record reviews, audits, and outcome tracking.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, care managers, families, and community partners to ensure the needs of individuals are met.
  • Monitor programming to ensure services promote independence, community inclusion, dignity, and personal achievement.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, evaluating, and developing residential staff.
  • Facilitate staff training initiatives and identify ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Generate reports and analyze data to improve program outcomes, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Respond to crises, provide on-call support, and assist with incident reviews and investigations as assigned.
  • Advocate for residents and employees while fostering a positive, supportive work environment.
  • Build partnerships within the community to expand opportunities and resources for individuals receiving services.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency policies, OPWDD regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience within OPWDD and/or OCFS residential programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulations, standards, and best practices for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and team-building experience.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with electronic health records and documentation systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to multiple program locations as needed.
  • Ability to safely intervene in emergency situations to ensure the well-being of residents and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience conducting investigations and incident reviews in accordance with OPWDD guidelines.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and performance improvement processes.
