Grand St Settlement Inc. in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator for the 21st Century Community Learning Center initiative to support in-school and after-school programming.

Working Mon-Fri 1PM-6PM with some Saturdays, you will collaborate with school staff, CBO partners, and city agencies to meet program outcomes, coordinate youth services, and engage families through data-driven planning.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist Community School Team and coordinate with school, CBO partners, and City agencies on data-driven outcomes
  • Develop and implement parent and community engagement efforts
  • Oversee activity specialists and teachers for expanded learning activities
  • On-site supervisor ensuring programming aligns with instruction and added hours
  • Maintain enrollment and attendance reporting per contract
  • Coordinate meetings and communications with school personnel

Salary Range: $23.00 To $23.00 Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Youth and Community Development Services

LOCATION: Williamsburg, Brooklyn

PROGRAM: Community Schools 21stCCLC Initiative

REPORTS TO: Community School Director

SALARY: Part-Time, $23/HR, Up To 25 hours a week. This position is performance based and is also contingent on funding availability

Schedule: Mon- Fri 1PM-6PM; Some Saturdays, Scheduling may vary due to needs of the program.

JOB SUMMARY

The 21st Century Community Learning Center Program Coordinator in collaboration with the school for in-school and out of school time programming to meet the needs of the participants during after-school.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years or more experience in the field of youth developmentformiddle-high school setting and/or developing adolescent services and programming in an urban environment.
  • Experience with program coordination, management & supervision of team of staff, event planning, resource connection, referral coordination with various youth age groups.
  • Experience managing, implementing and coordinating youth service programs in a DOE school building and in partnership with DOE Leadership (Principals, APs, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills, Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance- $25 nonrefundable fee required and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the school administration and school leadership team
  • Ability to engage, build relationships, and demonstrate empathy with adolescents
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with staff members and teachers
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Familiar with Socio-Emotional and Trauma-Informed practices
  • Familiar with Academics and Tutoring.
  • Diverse cultural competence is a must
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Program Development
  • Assistwith the Community School Team
  • Act as a co-lead to coordinate with the School, other CBO partners, and City agencies around data driven decision making progress towards agreed-upon outcomes
  • Assists in developing and carrying out parent and community engagement efforts
  • Participate in ongoing efforts to advocate for program needs via community coalition building and via administering feedback surveys and program assessments
  • Assist in managing & monitoring all activity specialists teachers for expanded learning and enrichment activities. Work with lead evaluation team to assess program effectiveness and impact
  • Serves as the on-site supervisor and arrange programming to align with instruction and added instructional hours at the school
  • Assist to ensure deliverables are met, ie. TransAct Afterschool-21
Administrative:
  • Ensure attendance tracking and reporting meets contractual requirements regarding enrollment and attendance.
  • Respond to all electronic and phone communication within 2 business days
  • Prepareto support a monthly calendar of events, programs, meetings, and activities.
  • Assist with Collaboration on cross-borough and agency/ department wide events and strategic planning efforts
  • Identify and build relationships with key service providers needed to best support students and families.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and weekly individual supervision
  • Communicate with school personnel and administration, as well as participate in meetings
