Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Executive Director(s) and the Board(s) of Directors of LCRA & EEZ.
  • Process correspondence and prepare agenda materials, notices, and packets.
  • Coordinate board meetings, track attendance, and arrange venue logistics.
  • Record and transcribe minutes, and assist with resolutions and reports.
  • Maintain related databases and files, and support tax-abatement processes.

Program Coordinator

The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, is currently accepting applications for the position of Project Coordinator. This full-time staff position will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA) Chapter 353 Advisory Board and the Enhanced Zone Boards (EEZ) in their operations for taking initiative, understanding and participating in accomplishments of the organizations’ mission and undertaking operational duties in the absence of the Executive Director(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • providing administrative and clerical assistance to the Executive Director(s) and the Board(s) of Directors of LCRA & EEZ.
  • Providing information as requested, processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and other items, as necessary.
  • Taking the initiative to understand key issues facing the EDC and its affiliate agencies to be of assistance to correctly answering inquiries and compiling information.
  • Coordinating Board meetings, as well as other meetings as required.
  • Preparing and distributing Board meeting notices, organizing monthly agenda content and related materials, distributing and posting meeting notices, agendas, and packets.
  • Tracking Board Commissioner attendance to assure a quorum, scheduling the boardroom, caterers and setting up the venue.
  • Monitoring and recording the meetings, transcribing and maintaining the minutes.
  • Preparing the resolutions and other pertinent documents as may be required.
  • Maintaining relative records and logs as well as assisting in preparing any reports required.
  • Issuance of tax-abatement certificates for LCRA & EEZ.
  • Professing tax-abatement applications, including assuming appropriate documentation and working with development staff to ensure that all requirements have been met.
  • Making arrangements with development staff for inspections.
  • Maintaining related databases and physical files.
Ideal Candidate
  • The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Three to five years’ experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and Teams as well as Zoom is preferable.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • Excellent written and communication skills are required.

This is a full-time exempt position with a salary commensurate with experience.
