Job summary

RS&H, Inc. in Tampa, FL is seeking a Program Communications Manager to lead the District 7 Corridors Program Office communications. You will develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy, coordinate internal and external messaging, and serve as the primary spokesperson for the program.

You will oversee a team of communications professionals, align campaigns with program goals, plan news events, write releases, and monitor outcomes while adapting to evolving priorities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs. A Master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
• Experience leading and managing a team of communications professionals.
• APR credential preferred.
• Knowledge of journalistic writing style and AP style. Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook at an intermediate level.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, citizens, and officials.
• Ability to research market trends and create content, reports and newsletters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote the DCPO goals and accomplishments.
• Manage internal and external communications with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to align communication strategies with program objectives.
• Oversee and direct coordination of special events including public meetings and project tours.
• Lead DCPO Communications team members to meet goals in a timely manner.
• Monitor effectiveness of DCPO communications with all audiences and adjust as needed.
• Respond flexibly to emerging issues or evolving goals.
• Perform other duties as leadership deems necessary.
