Job summary

The New River Valley Community Services' Jail Diversion Team is seeking a dedicated professional to join in treating and supporting criminal justice-involved adults. The Program Clinician would work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing services to incarcerated individuals and supports them in transitioning to the community setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other license-eligible Human Services field is required.
• State of Virginia license is required in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.
• If not fully licensed with the Virginia Board of Counseling, you are required to register and become licensed-eligible within three months of hire (if applicable).
• At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, is preferred.
• Experience working with substance use disorders and those with SMI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term interventions and assessment for incarcerated individuals.
• Coordinate care post-release and support transition to community.
• Medication management supports and substance use treatment within a multidisciplinary team.

Education
