State of Georgia – Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a dedicated Program Chair / Faculty for the Physical Therapist Assistant program at the DeKalb Campus. The role leads curriculum, outcomes, and accreditation-related activities to ensure program excellence and student success.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or higher, Georgia PTA/PT license, and at least three years of teaching experience in healthcare education, with strong leadership and communication skills and CPR

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Active Georgia Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant license (or eligibility).
  • At least three years of teaching experience in healthcare or physical therapy education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and writing.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the PTA program’s mission, philosophy, curriculum, syllabi, goals, and outcomes.
  • Oversee quality assessment and program improvement efforts.
  • Assist in budgeting and compliance with college/state reporting requirements.
  • Direct and mentor students in classroom, simulation, and clinical practice settings.
  • Document development, implementation, and evaluation of the PTA education program.

Additionally, the candidate will participate in and document the development, implementation, and evaluation of the PTA education program while providing direction, mentorship, and critique to students in classroom, simulation, and clinical practice settings.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · A Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in a related field. · Active Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant license in Georgia (or eligibility to obtain licensure). · At least three years of teaching experience in a healthcare or physical therapy education program. · Experience in curriculum development and writing. · Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. · Current CPR certification.
