Job summary

Detroit Public Schools Community District seeks a Program Associate II - Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and execute marketing strategies and events that boost brand visibility and engage audiences. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field; or three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, content development/writing, television/video production, social media management, knowledge of current technology, and traditional and digital processes to distribute communications, promotions, and advertisements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital and print promotional strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Assist and lead the coordination and execution of events, including community programs, conferences, celebrations, and promotional activities.
  • Manage marketing tickets for completion across schools and district marketing support.
  • Support vendor partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, and event logistics to help ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align marketing messages and event initiatives with organizational priorities and branding guidelines.
  • Assist in managing marketing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and analyzing campaign effectiveness.
  • Help create and oversee the production of marketing materials, including flyers, videos, and social media content.
  • Support promotional strategies to drive participation, engagement, and awareness of key initiatives.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for campaigns and events, providing reports and insights to leadership.
  • Provides school-based marketing support including research, analysis, consulting, and planning regarding school programs that align with the district's strategic plan, and key Superintendent and School Board initiatives.
  • Contributes to the development of school-based branding and messaging strategies to increase awareness of key initiatives to parents, students, the general community and district employees.
  • Supports the production, coordination, and promotion of school board meetings, community meetings, and off-site school-based events. Availability beyond traditional workday hours may be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Marketing and Engagement Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and execution of marketing strategies and events that enhance brand visibility, engage target audiences, and support organizational goals.
