Job summary

hhhn is seeking a Program Assistant to support the school-based preventative oral health services, assisting the Dental Hygienist and providing care management for students in need of dental care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, current BLS, and at least one year of experience with children. You must have a valid driver license and be able to travel between network sites; expect shifts up to 19.75 hours weekly with flexible evenings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a program working with children.
• Working knowledge of medical documents and processes/workflows.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate well with patients, parents, teachers and school staff.
• Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation to multiple work sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist the clinical Dental Hygienist in the school-based dental program.
• Record clinical data and complete forms and treatment logs.
• Provide administrative support and help with projects as assigned by the program.
• Keep accurate and complete patient/student records and infection control logs.
• Escort students to and from treatment areas; transport and set up equipment.
• Daily schedule development and coordination with school staff.
• Travel between worksites to support program delivery.
• Limited chairside assisting and on-site infection control.
• Participate in required employee trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Proposed Schedule: Up to 19.75 hours per week. Shifts will vary.

The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the delivery of the school based preventative oral health services. When not providing supportive service for direct care will provide care management to students identified as needing additional dental care.

• Demonstrates an understanding of the boundaries of the position
• Incorporates the Network's mission, values and philosophy in decisions behaviors and actions
• Demonstrates initiative and seeks supervisory counsel when appropriate
• Assist the clinical Dental Hygienist in the school based dental program
• Record clinical data and complete necessary forms and treatment logs as dictated by the Dental Hygienist
• Assist Dental Hygienist in administrative duties or projects as the program designates
• Keep accurate and complete patient/student records
• Maintain all infection control and equipment logs
• Escort students to and from treatment area in school
• Daily schedule development and review with school staff
• Order supplies and ensure current maintenance of equipment
• Work directly with all program staff on all issues related to the school based program
• Participate in all required employee trainings
• Transport and set up dental equipment at each work site
• Limited chairside assisting

The pay rate for this position is $19.89/hour.
