MENTOR Adult Day Health, a member of the Sevita family, provides day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve.

Program Assistant – Adult Day Care

Location: Haitian (St. Belvi) Adult Day Health Center

Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance in the daily care of health-impaired older adults or individuals in our care with brain injuries, intellectual/developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or mental diagnoses.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual and group activity programs, and be responsible for the care, safety, security, and social/recreational activities for the individuals receiving support.
  • Provide guidance with social skills, advocacy, self-esteem, and teach strategies to live as independently as possible.
  • Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, shopping, or activities in the community.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum one year experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults
  • Competence in CPR and First Aid
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to manage relationships
  • A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach
