Job summary
Catholic Charities, Department for Persons with Disabilities, seeks a Direct Support Professional - Program Assistant (Temporary) to support adults in our group homes. You will partner with leadership to maintain quality services and assist with training residential staff.
The role requires a valid NJ driver’s license, basic computer skills, and a commitment to teamwork in a dynamic caregiving environment. Full-time hours include evenings and weekend shifts with comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- One year experience with persons with developmental disabilities and/or a related degree preferred.
- 18 years of age or older
- High School/GED diploma
- Valid driver’s license in New Jersey with ≤5 points
- Must drive agency vehicles regularly
- Knowledge of computer programs or willingness to learn
- Team player with residents at all times
- Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures
Responsibilities
- Partner with Program Director to provide quality services in home.
- Assist in supervision and training of residential counselors.
- Prepare menus, grocery lists and food shopping; coordinate activities.
- Ensure medications are stocked and coordinate with pharmacy.
- Support health monitoring and adherence to standards.
- Complete written documentation and coordinate inspections as needed.
