Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma; associates degree or completion of 60 semester hours preferred.
• Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral challenges is valued.
• Willingness to follow program behavior management procedures including time out, restraints, and after-school detention.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective instructional behaviors in assisting the teacher.
• Assist in classroom and behavior management to support student learning.
• Follow teacher plans and provide one-on-one or group support as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and organizing for instruction.
• Monitor and maintain records of student progress toward objectives.
• Assist students with personal needs and support daily routines.
• Provide feedback to teachers about student programming and performance.
• Communicate effectively with staff and transport students as needed.
• Attend IEPTs, parent conferences, screening and staff meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate reliable attendance.
