Job summary

LBCC is seeking a part-time Campus Tours & Recruitment Assistant to support Student Recruitment Specialists by coordinating campus tours, outreach, and follow-ups with prospective students. You will input visitor data into the recruitment CRM and assist training of student workers.

Responsibilities include coordinating tours with schools and community groups, updating the tour schedule, and maintaining strong customer service while communicating in English and Spanish as needed.

Qualifications

  • Position requires an AA/AS degree, plus one year of related clerical, customer service, or adult education experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have well developed oral and written communication skills and college level math skills.
  • Requires desire to work with students and strong customer service abilities.

Job description

Works with Student Recruitment Specialists to provide campus visits to prospective students. Conducts tours. Provides outreach and follows-up with prospective students.

  • Works collaboratively with the department and assists with recruitment events.
  • Works with schools and community groups to plan large campus tours.
  • Conducts campus tours for prospective students and large groups.
  • Ensures visitors input their information into the recruitment CRM system.
  • Responsible for outreach and follow-up with prospective students after a campus tour takes place.
  • Corresponds in person and through email with prospective students, as needed.
  • Updates campus tour schedule and availability via CRM system, as needed.
  • Assists with training student workers and student ambassadors as tour guides.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Requires the ability to operate computer and other office equipment. Requires ability to accurately process words and numbers in person, via Internet, and via the telephone, with or without accommodations. Ability to communicate in person and in front of groups including both English and Spanish speakers is preferred. Requires the ability to move throughout campus, conducting tours, including climbing stairs with or without accommodation. Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Conducting tours requires the employee to move throughout campus, with some exposure to weather extremes. Considerable time is spent working on a computer.

Education and Experience

  • Must have well developed oral and written communication skills and college level math skills.
  • Requires public speaking skills.
  • Requires the ability to independently carry out the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to use word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in English and Spanish one-on-one, over the phone, and in group settings preferred.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work respectfully and inclusively with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, differences, and abilities.
  • Prefer knowledge of procedures and processes in Admissions, Registration, and Student Affairs is preferred.
  • General knowledge of LBCC instructional programs is preferred.
Employment Requirement

Employment Requirement Criminal Background Check - C4

All Part-time Classified employees begin at Step 1 of the salary schedule, corresponding to the position’s grade. Placement at a higher step on the salary schedule is not negotiable. Step increases are subject to eligibility, and only take place at the end of the Fiscal Year in July if approved and submitted by the employee’s supervisor of record. Hours worked in more than one position or department cannot be combined for step advancement. Part-time Classified employees are paid once monthly, on the last day of the month.

  • Athletic Trainers, Farm Aides, Sign Language Interpreters, Transcribers, and Translators can find individual hourly rate information at the bottom of the Salary Schedule.
  • LBCC offers a pay incentive to eligible employees who demonstrate proficiency in conversational Spanish when evaluated and formally certified by a college-approved professional or agency. Eligibility to apply for and receive bilingual pay incentives for Spanish and languages other than English are subject to the provisions of Administrative Rule 6025-06.
