The Peter Paul Development Center is seeking a part-time Program Assistant for its After-School Academy in an urban Richmond setting. You will support daily lessons, help students with critical thinking and writing, and foster curiosity in a safe classroom environment.
Hours are 2:00 pm–6:30 pm, Monday–Friday (up to 20 hours/week). The role requires a high school diploma, enrollment in college courses, and a COVID-19 vaccine, with exceptions handled by testing.
The After-School Academy program is comprised of students grades K-5 who receive daily instruction in core subject areas and provides enrichment activities. The Program Assistant provides support to the classroom teacher in implementation of the daily lesson plans and group activities. The person in the role must embody Peter Paul’s values and share a passion for the mission by overseeing a high quality, safe experience for all students. All Peter Paul employees are expected to maintain high expectations for self, colleagues, students and families and must maintain a professional, ethical and responsible attitude to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
This is a part-time, hourly position that is expected to work Monday-Friday during program hours ranging from 2:00 pm -6:30 pm (up to 20 hours per week) and will receive additional hours for team meetings and educational training.
