Position Overview

PCG is seeking a highly motivated Child Care Program Assistant to manage day‑to‑day operations in our San Diego CalWORKs Welfare‑to‑Work/Refugee employment services operation. The role involves maintaining applicant and employer databases, completing county paperwork, and utilizing CalSaws for data entry and reporting. The assistant will work full time in an office setting and report directly to the Child Care Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming child care referrals and review for program and supportive service eligibility.
• Ensure all required information is accurately entered into the case‑management systems and the child care database.
• Assign and distribute cases to Child Care Specialists to ensure timely customer engagement.
• Host and co‑host virtual child‑care intake sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Working Conditions

• Must reside in San Diego County.
• Full‑time (Mon‑Fri) in‑office work, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization, including H‑1B sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range $19,000 – $22,000 annually.
• Benefits include medical and dental coverage, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and bereavement leave.
