Job summary

Lifesteps, Inc. is looking for multiple Program Aides in Butler, PA. The ideal candidate will assist special needs adults with activities, observe and report accomplishments, and transport participants using an Agency vehicle. This is a part-time position working Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver's license. Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required.
Must have a current driver’s license for Agency vehicle travel.
Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required.

Responsibilities

Assist special needs adults with daily activities.
Observe and report on participant accomplishments.
Transport participants using an Agency vehicle.

Job description

Lifesteps is expanding services in Butler County and has an immediate need for multiple Program Aides in Butler, PA.

The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Position Summary

Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of the Day Program participants. The Program Aide assists special needs adults with activities such as crafts, community outings and life skills. The Program Aide observes and reports on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment, and also transports participants in the community using an Agency vehicle for learning, engagement and fun activities.

This position works part‑time with a schedule of 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED
Current driver’s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) – offered by Lifesteps
First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months – offered by Lifesteps

Preferred:

One‑year experience working with individuals in the human services field
Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE)
Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or any other major
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
