Job summary

Markel Group is seeking a Program Services Analyst to participate in accurate processing, collections and reporting for State National's client business within the Program Services Analysis and Reporting team. The role reports to the Manager, Program Analysis and Reporting and focuses on SOX controls, audits, and data analysis across underwriting data.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and will collaborate with Client Services, Actuarial, Compliance, Legal and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• SOX control adherence and audit support experience preferred.
• Experience with reporting and analysis of underwriting data.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to SOX controls and maintain department processes.
• Assist with ad-hoc requests and strategic projects.
• Assist with internal and external audit review as needed.
• Assist with systems integration and testing as needed.
• Collaborate to design and implement process improvements for efficiency.
• Perform account reconciliations and remediate issues per SOX requirements.
• Perform trend and fluctuation analysis on underwriting data.
• Handle special reporting requests (Statutory, Premium Tax, Schedule P, Audit, Assessments).
• Generate assessment and risk allocations as invoiced by statutory entities.
• Understand reinsurance contract language for accounting requirements.
• Coordinate with program managers and other functions to resolve issues.
