Job summary

Markel is seeking a Program Services Analyst to join the State National Program Services team in the United States. The role focuses on accurate processing, collections and reporting for State National's client business, with collaboration across Client Services, Actuarial, Compliance and Finance to meet business goals.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and US work authorization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
US Work Authorization required; Markel does not sponsor now or in the future.
Experience with SOX controls is part of the role.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all SOX controls and follow department processes.
Assist with ad-hoc requests and strategic projects as they arise.
Assist with internal and external audit review, as needed.
Assist with systems integration and testing, as needed.
Collaborate with teammates to identify, design, and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform account reconciliations including identification and remediation of issues in compliance with SOX control requirements.
Perform trend and fluctuation analysis on underwriting data related to assigned programs.
Send and monitor receipt of special reporting requests (Statutory, Premium Tax, Schedule P, Audit, Assessments).
Generate assessment and assigned risk allocations as invoiced by various statutory entities.
Understand reinsurance contract language pertaining to accounting contractual requirements, as applicable.
Work closely with assigned program managers and other functional areas to resolve issues and support business goals.
