Department of War Education Activity in the United States is seeking a GS-14 level specialist to lead military family research and program evaluation, informing policy and strategic decisions. The role involves advising senior leaders and coordinating with internal and external partners to advance evidence-based outcomes.

This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)). This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading military family research and program evaluation activities to assess program effectiveness and inform policy and strategic decision‑making, including providing expert advice to senior leaders, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on research and evaluation initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
