This position is responsible for:

Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

Essential Functions

Program Aide (90%)
  • Promotes safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the branch at all times.
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements a range of program services and activities for drop in members and visitors; provides periodic activity reports.
  • Promotes and stimulates program participation; registers new members and participates in the program orientation process.
  • Assists in driving children to/from school and field trips and drives for the Corps when needed
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Center facilities and grounds.
Other Responsibilities (10%)
  • Completes and submits monthly statistics form in an accurate and timely manner.
  • May participate in special programs and/or events.
  • Performs other related work as required.
  • Drives van or bus for the Corps when needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball, and football.
  • Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages.
  • Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities.
What we are looking for in you: Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D., AND six months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid State Drivers' License
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform various yard work including raking, loading, and hauling grass, leaves, pine straw, dirt, etc.
  • Ability to operate yard maintenance equipment.
  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
