Queens Community House in Kew Gardens, NY is seeking a compassionate Program Aide to support the Older Adult Center's daily operations. This entry-level role focuses on friendly participant engagement, clerical tasks, and collaborative teamwork to keep programs running smoothly.

You will assist with registrations, data entry, activity setup, and special events while gaining hands-on nonprofit experience and opportunities for growth in aging services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist participants, visitors, and community members in person and by phone.
  • Create and distribute flyers and promotional materials for programs and events.
  • Register new participants and maintain participant records.
  • Enter daily program activity into the agency's database and prepare monthly activity reports.
  • Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure accurate program information.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of meals, activities, and special events.
  • Support outreach to increase awareness of programs and services.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people throughout the day, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and approaches every task with a collaborative, "jump in and help" attitude.The Kew Gardens Older Adult Center provides social, educational, recreational, health, and wellness programming that helps older adults remain active, independent, and connected to their community.
