Flagship Pioneering Co-Op Program is posting a STEM internship for Northeastern University Co-Op students. The role supports ProFound Therapeutics’ Oncology team with cell biology and related research, emphasizing experimentation, data analysis and strategic planning.

Selected candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment, reporting to a scientific team, with a 40-hour work week and five in-office days per week from January 2027 to June 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in oncology and/or cell biology or related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly.
• Strong collaborative skills with evidence of working in a team.

• Design, plan and execute experiments to support research activities and platform development.
• Contribute to the Oncology team to discover therapeutics and validate targets.

The Role

ProFound Therapeutics is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Co-Op/Intern with experience in cell biology and/or oncology to play a vital role in the company’s Oncology team. This individual will contribute scientific and technical expertise to a multidisciplinary team, emphasizing conceptualization, experimentation, data analysis, presentation, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in cellular biology and be enthusiastic and capable of working in a multidisciplinary (e.g. genomics, bioinformatics, protein biochemistry) team in the biosciences. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities, project goals and platform development
• Server as a contributor to the Oncology team, whose mission is to discover new therapeutics and validate new therapeutic targets
• Report experimental plans and results to the scientific team
• Proactively review literature to contribute to new ideas, methods/technologies for discovery and therapeutic areas

MinimumQualifications:

• Pursuing aBachelor’s or Master’sdegree inoncologyand/or cell biologyorrelated field, such as biochemistry, microbiology,molecularbiology, or protein sciences.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology techniquesand attention to detail
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
• Strong collaborative skills with evidence of working in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Priorindustryoracademic researchco-opexperiencein Cell Biology
• Experience withcell basedassay development
• Basic knowledge on Flow cytometryand/orimmunoblots
• Confident execution, focused and team-oriented with an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
• Experience with data analysisusingGraphpadPrism and Microsoft Excel.
