Job summary

Hireology is seeking an experienced Automotive Used Vehicle Buyer to join our Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram buying team. This role requires critical thinking, local market awareness, and hands-on mechanical sense to acquire inventory that turns and profits, not just algorithmic numbers.

You will evaluate vehicles through auctions and dealer networks, assess reconditioning costs with the service team, and monitor regional trends to stay aligned with dealer profit targets.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication required.
• Practical knowledge of vehicle mechanics and repair cost estimation.
• High autonomy to manage daily purchasing goals.
• Proven track record in retail/wholesale automotive industry preferred.
• Experience with vAuto and Rapid Recon or similar tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, bid on, and acquire high-demand used vehicles through auctions and dealer networks.
• Use market tools and judgment to determine true retail viability, considering repair costs and demand.
• Develop and expand purchasing channels across non-traditional sources.
• Communicate reconditioning costs with service to estimate expenses before acquisition.
• Monitor regional sales trends and margins to align with dealer profit targets.
