Job summary

STOW Group in Adairsville, GA is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain roll-forming equipment for metal coils, ensuring dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.

You will read blueprints, load coils, monitor the line, perform preventive maintenance, and uphold safety standards; a high school diploma and 2 years in metal fabrication are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Install and align roller dies, load steel coils, and adjust for thickness, speed and shear.
• Production Monitoring: Run roll-forming line with proper lubrication and cut-to-length accuracy.
• Quality Control: Perform first-off inspections using calipers, micrometers and gauges to match blueprints.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Daily preventive maintenance and fixing jams, wear, or misalignment.
• Safety Adherence: Follow safety protocols, machine guarding, LOTO and PPE usage.

Job Description

The Machine Operator sets up,operates, andmaintainsspecialized machinery to shape metal coils into specific profiles, ensuring production quality and efficiency. Key responsibilities include installing roller dies, adjusting machine settings, monitoring for defects, performing routinepreventive maintenance, and interpreting blueprints to meet strict dimensional tolerances.

Machine Setup & Operation: Install and align roller dies (tooling) on spindles, load steel/metal coils using cranes or forklifts, and adjust settings for thickness, speed, and shear.

Production Monitoring: Run the roll-forming line, ensuring continuous material feed, proper lubrication, andaccuratecut-to-length functionality.

Quality Control: Perform first-off inspections, using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and tape measures to verify that finished products match blueprints and specs.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily preventive maintenance (cleaning, oiling, greasing) and troubleshoot issues like jamming, roller wear, or misalignment.

Safety Adherence: Strict adherence to safety protocols, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and PPE usage.

Qualifications

Experience:2 years of experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or specific roll-forming machine operation.

Technical Skills:Ability to readblueprints, SAPwork orders, navigate MES system, and interpret technical drawings.

Tools:Proficiencyin using hand tools (wrenches), measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, tape measure, micrometer), and potentially overhead cranes.

Physical Strength:Capability to lift materials (often up to 50lbs) and stand forlong periods.

Education:High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
