Job summary

The University of Louisville, Department of Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging Section, seeks an academic radiologist (BC/BE, fellowship-trained) for an open-rank position (Assistant Professor to Professor). Flexible schedule from 0.8 to 1.0 FTE with leadership paths such as Section Chief or Vice Chair.

Responsibilities include supervising 24 radiology residents, performing MSK CT/MRI/US, and participating in trauma, Sports Medicine, and orthopedic oncology imaging.

Position Description

Diagnostic MSK Imager needed in Louisville, KY

The University of Louisville, Department of Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging Section, is seeking a BC/BE, fellowship-trained academic radiologist. This position may be filled at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level (open rank) and has some flexibility with scheduled hours that may be filled at .8 FTE to 1 FTE. A leadership position in the department is also available for suitable candidates (Section Chief or Vice Chair). Faculty rank is contingent upon qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities for the MSK Imaging section at the University of Louisville include supervision and training of 24 Radiology residents in the interpretation of MSK radiology, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. The MSK section covers a busy workload of inpatient and outpatient cross-sectional and radiographic imaging of the body, joints, and extremities. Imaging workups are concentrated in trauma imaging, both acute and chronic, Sports Medicine, and orthopedic oncology. The service also provides image-guided fluoroscopic procedures, heavily concentrated in arthrography.

In addition to staffing the UofL Health - University Hospital, UofL Health Jewish Hospital, the University staff cover imaging services at the local VA hospital where the subspecialty group is again responsible for MSK CT, MR, and US.

Conference Participation: Resident case conferences and core didactic lecture conferences.
