The Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a 9-month, 50%, non-tenure-track teaching position in chemical engineering at the rank of Professor of Practice. The Professor of Practice will serve as lead instructor for two or more undergraduate chemical engineering courses per semester, with a preference toward unit operation laboratory, design, safety, and/or controls courses. This faculty member will help develop, integrate, and deliver practical, industrially relevant course content for other courses in the curriculum and work with industrial partners and other professional sources to enhance our process engineering and design instruction.
The Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering is home to 18 faculty members with diverse expertise spanning energy, advanced materials, separations, sustainability, and biotechnology. With over $28 million in endowments, our department holds 5 endowed chairs and 8 endowed professorships to support our research, teaching, and service missions. The department has a strong history of excellence. Successful candidates will meet the minimum qualifications and as many preferred qualifications as possible. We are seeking candidates with industrial experience that will enhance and complement our department's existing programs and expertise.
