The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for the position of Department Chair and Professor. We seek a scholar with a multi-disciplinary focus, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, a transformative vision for the future of engineering and industrial engineering, and a plan to realize that vision.
Applicants must possess a PhD in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field and be qualified for appointment as a tenured, full professor in the Swanson School of Engineering. Candidates should have an established record of high-quality sponsored research, impactful publications in leading journals, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and educational excellence at undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels. We are especially interested in leaders who can leverage collaborations across Pitt, other universities, and industry to build strong partnerships, including major centers and initiatives.
