Job summary

Alliant Engineering, Inc. in Salt Lake City seeks a Professional Traffic Engineer to join the Traffic team and lead design projects across Utah and the country.

You will apply civil engineering principles to traffic solutions, including lighting, signals, signing, and pavement markings, while preparing bids and budgets. The role requires a PE license, 4+ years in traffic engineering, and proficiency with MicroStation, SignCAD, and traffic software such as Synchro/Sim Traffic and VISSIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 4+ years of experience in traffic engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer required.
• Proficient with MicroStation and SignCAD.
• Experience with traffic software: Synchro/Sim Traffic, VISSIM.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply standard civil and traffic engineering principles and techniques
• Design traffic engineering elements of infrastructure projects, such as roadway lighting, traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings
• Prepare traffic design bid packages, including plans, specifications and engineer’s estimates
• Perform quality assurance detail checking reviews of plans, specifications and estimates prior to submittal
• Prepare Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) studies
• Conduct various transportation studies, including traffic operations analysis, traffic safety analysis, and concept alternatives development
• Write proposals, scopes of work and preparing project budgets

Alliant Engineering, Inc. has an exciting opening for a Professional Traffic Engineer to join the Traffic team in our Salt Lake City office.

As a Professional Traffic Engineer and an experienced self-motivated individual, you will use your project engineer skills to work in a team environment and lead on a variety of design projects in Utah and across the country.

Responsibilities:
