Job summary

CPH, a top 500 firm, seeks a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in Orlando, FL. You will lead survey projects from proposal to delivery, guiding budgeting, scheduling, and QA/QC, while fostering strong client relationships.

Requirements include FL PSM/PLS license and experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, Civil 3D; DOT Location & Surveys familiarity. Valid driver's license required. Join a multidisciplinary team in Sanford or Orlando.

Qualifications

• Licensed PSM/PLS in FL; Georgia license a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Successful history of project management in site development and surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, Civil 3D; familiar with DOT Location & Surveys processes.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Foster and grow client relationships; manage scope, budgeting, scheduling, and QC from proposal to final deliverables.
• Oversee survey activities to ensure performance goals are met.
• Coordinate with project team and provide detailed instructions to survey staff.
• Keep up with current technology and program changes in surveying.
• Perform field calculations and mapping as needed.
• Compile and research projects prior to starting work.
• Analyze deeds and research for survey production.
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget; discuss issues with Supervisor.
• Manage office personnel assigned to projects.
• Coordinate with field crew supervisor to meet project needs.
• Prioritize projects and staffing; schedule QA/QC.
• Monitor projects to ensure client satisfaction.

The Professional Surveyor delivers high-quality survey services while ensuring safety and technological advancement. Your expertise will foster strong client relationships and guide projects from inception to completion, emphasizing budget adherence, scheduling, and quality control.

Duties/Responsibilities

As a Professional Surveyor and Mapper you will have the opportunity to:

• Foster and grow client relationships; develop and monitor project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control for survey projects from the proposal stage through final deliverables.
• Provide oversight of survey activities to ensure assignments meet performance goals
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with other project team members and provide detailed instructions to survey support personnel.
• Keeping up with current technology and changes to the programs being used.
• Performing calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
• Compiling and researching projects as needed prior to starting work.
• Analyzing deeds and research materials for the production of the survey.
• Assuring that all projects stay on schedule and within budget, and discussing any issues/discrepancies with Supervisor if needed.
• Managing office personnel assigned to your projects.
• Coordinating with the field crew supervisor your project needs and working with field staff to assure the desired product from the field.
• Prioritizing projects and their schedules for yourself and staff.
• Coordinating QA/QC scheduling.
• Monitoring each project to ensure that client is satisfied with service and product and that all aspects of the scope have been performed fully and correctly.
• Reviewing timesheets of assigned staff on a daily basis for your assigned projects.
• Coordinating and assisting with project estimates as requested.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or (PLS) in the State of Florida and/or an additional license in Georgia is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Successful history of project management with, Site Development, and surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK including Civil 3D or equivalent transportation surveying project management experience and familiarity with DOT Location & Surveys processes and standards.
• Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
