Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm, is seeking a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in Sanford or Orlando, FL. The role delivers high-quality survey services while guiding projects from inception to completion, emphasizing budget adherence, scheduling, and quality control.

You will foster client relations, oversee survey activities, coordinate with field crews, and mentor office staff while staying current with MicroStation, GEOPAK, Civil 3D and DOT standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed PSM/PLS in Florida required
• Strong communication and PM experience
• Experience with survey software and DOT processes

Responsibilities

• Foster and grow client relationships and manage project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee survey activities to meet performance goals.
• Coordinate with project team and provide instructions to survey staff.
• Stay current with technology and program changes.
• Perform field calculations and mapping as needed.
• Research and compile project materials prior to starting work.
• Analyze deeds and materials for survey production.
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget; escalate issues to Supervisor as needed.
• Lead and supervise office personnel on projects.
• Coordinate with field crew supervisor to meet project needs.
• Prioritize projects and manage QA/QC scheduling.
• Monitor project progress to ensure client satisfaction.
• Review timesheets for assigned staff daily.
• Assist with project estimates as requested.

The Professional Surveyor delivers high-quality survey services while ensuring safety and technological advancement. Your expertise will foster strong client relationships and guide projects from inception to completion, emphasizing budget adherence, scheduling, and quality control.

Duties/Responsibilities:

As a Professional Surveyor and Mapper you will have the opportunity to:

• Foster and grow client relationships; develop and monitor project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control for survey projects from the proposal stage through final deliverables.
• Provide oversight of survey activities to ensure assignments meet performance goals
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with other project team members and provide detailed instructions to survey support personnel.
• Keeping up with current technology and changes to the programs being used.
• Performing calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
• Compiling and researching projects as needed prior to starting work.
• Analyzing deeds and research materials for the production of the survey.
• Assuring that all projects stay on schedule and within budget, and discussing any issues/discrepancies with Supervisor if needed.
• Managing office personnel assigned to your projects.
• Coordinating with the field crew supervisor your project needs and working with field staff to assure the desired product from the field.
• Prioritizing projects and their schedules for yourself and staff.
• Coordinating QA/QC scheduling.
• Monitoring each project to ensure that client is satisfied with service and product and that all aspects of the scope have been performed fully and correctly.
• Reviewing timesheets of assigned staff on a daily basis for your assigned projects.
• Coordinating and assisting with project estimates as requested.

Requirements:

• Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or (PLS) in the State of Florida and/or an additional license in Georgia is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Successful history of project management with, Site Development, and surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK including Civil 3D or equivalent transportation surveying project management experience and familiarity with DOT Location & Surveys processes and standards.
• Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
