Job summary

The Gateway Engineers, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Professional Surveyor with a PLS license and 8+ years of surveying experience to join our team.

You will prepare survey descriptions, analyze records, and coordinate with field crews to deliver ALTA/NSPS surveys and boundary work. Candidates should have an associate or bachelor’s degree in a survey-related field, be proficient in data processing and legal descriptions, and be able to collaborate across engineers and project managers in a

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey descriptions, legal descriptions, and survey documentation.
• Research legal records, deeds, and land titles.
• Draft survey plans and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
• Prepare construction stakeout plans and field layout support.
• Perform boundary, planimetric, and topographic surveys.
• Process data and prepare final survey deliverables.
• Collaborate with field crews, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy.

The ideal Professional Surveyor candidate will have the following experience:

• Preparing survey descriptions, legal descriptions, and survey documentation.
• Researching legal records, prior survey records, deeds, and land titles.
• Drafting survey plans and preparing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
• Preparing construction stakeout plans and supporting field layout activities.
• Performing boundary, planimetric, and topographic surveys.
• Interpreting, analyzing, and verifying survey data using appropriate levels of precision, including sub-foot, sub-inch, and sub-meter measurements.
• Preparing deed plots and legal descriptions.
• Identifying and locating utilities and incorporating utility information into survey documentation.
• Completing office-based surveying tasks, including data processing, calculations, drafting, research, and preparation of final survey deliverables.
• Collaborating with field crews, engineers, and project managers to ensure survey data is accurate, complete, and meets project requirements.
