Protouch Staffing seeks an experienced Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor to lead civil land surveying projects from planning to delivery. You will oversee survey operations, supervise field crews, maintain client relationships, and prepare legal surveys and reports.

Ideal candidates hold a PLS license with 7+ years of professional surveying experience and strong knowledge of Civil 3D, Trimble software, and field technologies. This is an on-site Illinois role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of professional land surveying experience.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
  • Experience managing survey projects and supervising field crews.

Responsibilities

  • Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, as-built, and land development surveys.
  • Lead and supervise survey field crews with quality control across projects.
  • Review data, calculations, and deliverables for accuracy.
  • Prepare plats, legal descriptions, easement documents, and survey reports.
  • Conduct deed research, boundary and title analysis.
  • Process field data using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
  • Coordinate with engineers, attorneys, title companies, agencies and clients.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules and proposals.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and field personnel.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines and deliverables.

Job Post Summary

A civil engineering and land surveying firm is seeking an experienced Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor to lead a variety of land surveying projects from planning through final delivery. The role involves managing survey operations, supervising field crews, maintaining client relationships, preparing legal survey documents, and ensuring high-quality project execution. The ideal candidate has strong project management experience, professional licensure, and expertise in land surveying software and field technologies.

Job Roles And Responsibilities
  • Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, as-built, and land development survey projects.
  • Lead and supervise survey field crews while ensuring quality control throughout project execution.
  • Review survey data, calculations, and final deliverables for accuracy.

Qualifications And Certifications
Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 7+ years of professional land surveying experience.
  • Experience managing survey projects and supervising field crews.
