Actian is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Professional Services team. The primary focus of this role is to provide high-quality pre/post-sales technical consulting and support (technical, operational, and production) to customers using Actian products in mission-critical environments.

The ideal candidate must work independently with minimal supervision, be thorough yet efficient, and contribute to team efforts through collaboration and knowledge sharing. This role requires a seasoned technical professional proficient in Data Governance concepts and the development lifecycle of Data Integration projects. The candidate should be able to interface effectively with external business users, management, and technical stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and deliver complex Data Integration and Data Discovery projects using Actian Data Integration, Data Discovery, and Data Catalog solutions.
2. Address varied use-cases shared by Actian customers to implement Data Governance solutions that meet their business requirements.
3. Resolve complex integration and analytics problems independently or as part of a team, often related to production issues or outages, balancing urgency with diligence.
4. Assist customers in upgrading their Actian products to the current supported versions.
5. Collaborate with customers and internal teams on project planning, design reviews, and testing activities.
6. Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot software, hardware, or network systems as needed to analyze customer environments or issues.
7. Maintain current skills related to Actian products and industry best practices.
8. Create and deliver technical and non-technical presentations.
9. Document lessons learned, best practices, and other relevant information.
10. Prepare documentation for client support activities, site visits, bug reports, test cases, and test plans.
11. Mentor others in Data Integration and Data Governance, providing technical and business guidance.

Job Qualifications:

1. Deep knowledge of Data Discovery and Data Catalog tools such as Zeenea, Collibra, Alation, etc.
2. Experience with Integration tools like Informatica, Boomi, Talend, DataConnect, DataFlow, or IBM DataStage.
3. Familiarity with databases and data formats including Ingres, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, XML, JSON, and others.
4. Hands-on experience with at least one database server.
5. Knowledge of Business Analytics tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
6. Proficiency in designing solutions of varying complexity and integrating with other products.
7. Experience with data formats like JSON, XML, EDI, and healthcare data formats (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
8. Understanding of networking, JDBC/.NET environments, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
9. Strong SQL skills and ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities.
10. Knowledge of security systems, character sets, and Unicode.
11. Ability to estimate project timelines and deliverables.
12. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
2. 5-7 years of experience in Data Integration and Data Governance projects using various tools.

Business Travel:

1. Approximately 10-15% travel required, if necessary.
