Job summary

Clinisys is seeking a Professional Services Consultant to deliver on-site and remote implementations for laboratory clients. You will mentor clients on workflow planning and drive adoption of Clinisys best practices for maximum ROI.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in lab informatics, strong SQL and API skills, and experience with LIMS systems. Travel to client sites and training on LIMS usage are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Life Sciences/Pharma or Toxicology related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in lab management or informatics with LIMS knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving, able to translate requirements to docs.
  • Minimum 3 years SQL query writing and programming (C++, Java, PL/SQL).
  • Familiarity with API/Interfaces (HL7) and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using information systems or Clinisys software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform implementations with knowledge of department procedures and guidelines.
  • Guide clients to maximize efficiency using best practice recommendations.
  • Provide product training as part of the implementation process.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to optimize workflows and data analysis.
  • Document configurations and changes for compliance and reference.
  • Travel to client sites to install Clinisys software per procedures.
  • Support and train lab staff on LIMS usage and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and test technical solutions both solo and in teams.

Job description

Purpose

As a Professional Services Consultant working with laboratories staff, you will deliver implementation and/or consulting to projects to achieve successful on‑time project with client satisfaction. You will provide clients with mentorship and advice for workflow planning and drive adoption of standard methodologies and best practices for the greatest customer return on investment. You will be responsible for performing contracted onsite and remote services for clients.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct implementations demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of department procedures and guidelines

  • Guide the client in their decision making to achieve maximum efficiency using Clinisys best practice recommendations

  • Conduct some product training for the client as part of the overall implementation process

  • Leverage AI‑enabled tools and Clinisys platforms to optimize implementation workflows, improve data analysis, and enhance decision‑making during client engagements

  • Provide input to process improvements by monitoring both client and departmental feedback

  • Travel to client sites to install Clinisys software products following department procedures and guidelines

  • Maintain a high level of commitment to superior customer satisfaction through the entire duration of the customer relationship

  • Both individually and as a part of a team, troubleshoot, debug, and test technical solutions

  • Provide ongoing support and training to laboratory staff and stakeholders on LIMS usage and best practices

  • Document system configurations, procedures, and any changes for reference and compliance purposes

  • Other duties, as assigned, will contribute to the success of our company and the solutions we deploy.

Skills needed to be successful
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage projects and priorities from start to finish;

  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflow concepts relative to software applications with strong knowledge of interfaces;

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization;

  • Ability to understand how multiple systems work together and ability to make recommendations;

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Able to provide mentoring and consultation to improve workflow processes and procedures;

Required Experience & Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences/Pharma or Toxicology related degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory management or laboratory informatics, with a strong understanding of LIMS systems and their applications

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, concise documentation

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with SQL query writing and Programing Languages (C++, Java, PL/SQL)

  • Familiarity with laboratory operations, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of industry-specific standards is a plus

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with API/Interfaces (HL7)

  • Minimum 3 years SQL database management and reporting tools

  • Experience or exposure to utilizing AI tools, like Co-Pilot, to streamline processes and communication

Preferred Experience & Education
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with information systems or Clinisys software products and 1 year working with Clinisys applications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a consulting or implementation environment

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the $75,000 - $101,000 annual base salary range. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the exact starting pay may be above or below this range.

Onboarding

As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend/travel to the office on their first day of employment (Raleigh, NC / Tucson, AZ / Indianapolis, IN). This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • 25-50% travel may be required

  • Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours;

  • Exposure to hazardous materials or various weather conditions

  • Travel to client sites that can pose risk associated with healthcare organization

  • May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements
