Job summary

Cherokee County Schools seeks a dedicated Bus Driver for a full-time 182-day, 4-hour shift. The role focuses on safe student transportation, compliance with school system and state regulations, and timely reporting.

You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain order and safety on the bus, and ensure student supervision and evacuations when needed. Requirements include a valid CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement, Alabama school bus certification, and health card; a clean

Qualifications

Valid CDL Class B with School Bus and Passenger Endorsement as required
Alabama School Bus Certification from the Alabama Department of Education
Maintain a current Alabama School Bus Physical/ALDOT Health Card as required by state law
Background clearance as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations

Responsibilities

Demonstrates support for the school system, its vision, goals, and priorities.
Adheres to all traffic laws and driving safety rules.
Prepares and submits monthly school bus reports as required.
Performs daily pre-trip inspection of the bus and completes and submits form as required; performs post-trip inspection.
Maintains a clean bus and orderly conduct of students on board.
Trains and evacuates students safely when necessary.
Transports students on field trips and escorts to events as assigned.
Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
