The Colorado Department of law is seeking a highly qualified and experienced attorney to serve as the Professional Responsibility Counsel. This role involves providing expert advice on conflicts of interest and ethics issues, leading training and ethics programming for the office, and ensuring adherence to the highest standards of professional conduct. Provide guidance and counsel to attorneys and staff on matters related to conflicts of interest, professional conduct, and ethical obligations.
Assist with navigating ethical issues involving appointment of special assistant attorneys general
Review and analyze potential conflicts of interest and propose resolutions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to manage and mitigate conflicts of interest.
Training and Development:
Design and lead comprehensive training programs on ethics and professional responsibility for attorneys and staff.
Conduct regular workshops, seminars, and presentations to educate employees on ethical standards and best practices.
Stay abreast of developments in legal ethics and incorporate relevant updates into training materials.
Compliance and Monitoring:
Monitor and ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional responsibility guidelines.
Investigate and address allegations of ethical violations, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
Prepare reports and documentation related to ethics compliance and professional responsibility matters.
Policy Development:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and update policies related to professional responsibility and ethics.
Advise on the ethical implications of new initiatives, policies, and procedures within the office.
Serve as a resource for legal ethics questions and provide interpretations of rules and guidelines.
