Job summary

Inland Imaging Associates, LLC is seeking a Professional Radiology Assistant I to manage incoming exams at Sacred Heart Medical Center. This role requires excellent communication and multitasking abilities, as well as clerical experience in a medical office setting.

Job Information

Base Pay Range: $18.06 - $27.09

Full Time, Regular position, Monday–Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM, Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Summary

The Professional Radiology Assistant I manages incoming exams via Medicalis to facilitate timely review and dictation by radiologists, providing administrative support as required.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and dispatch exams to meet turnaround times.
  • Facilitate and dispatch referring physician and technologist calls to appropriate radiologists based on sub‑specialty.
  • Triage multiple phone calls on multiple phone lines.
  • Maintain knowledge of radiologists’ shift definitions and sub‑specialized groups.
  • Prepare exams for radiologist interpretation: verify exam, clinical information, contrast, fluoro time, prior studies; ensure loading of current and previous studies; resolve exceptions; link and/or merge accounts.
  • Merge patient accounts in Medicalis Operations and PACS.
  • Upload all electronic paperwork to the Patient Summary in Medicalis Control Center or PACS as needed, including previous reports, history, physicals, and notes.
  • Document and follow up communications on individual exams in Medicalis Control Center.
  • Adhere to test workflows and policies.
  • Monitor, track, and communicate procedure schedules for radiologists.
  • Obtain additional histories and information via multiple patient record systems and ordering provider offices.
  • Track, note, and add FTE credit for procedures, prelims, meetings, conferences, and downtimes.
  • Follow up on addendums issuance.
  • Respond to email consistently and proactively.
  • Call or fax results to referring physicians.
  • Provide a high level of customer service continuously.
  • Attend meetings, take minutes/notes, and report to the team as required.
  • Order and stock beverages for radiologists onsite.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of reading rooms onsite daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate professional demeanor, good personal hygiene, and be free of alcohol or drug abuse.
  • Keep a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be detail‑oriented, able to multitask, organized, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Engage in self‑directed learning and pursue continuing education.
  • Adhere to departmental standards and personnel policies, using teamwork and communication skills to identify concerns and solutions.
  • Attend quarterly quality assurance meetings.
  • Maintain required attendance and rotate to other shifts and locations as needed.
  • Accept and perform other projects and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; AA Degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year of clerical experience required; two years of medical office experience preferred; hands‑on with complex computerized applications.
  • Keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Anatomy and medical terminology (preferred).
  • Understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologists (preferred).
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Medicalis Control Center, Medicalis Operations, Stentor/PACS, Smartsheet, Workday, WebEx, EPIC, Vertex, Powershare, QGenda (desired).
  • Background check: Must pass RCW 43.43.830–840 background check for working with children under 16, disabled persons, or vulnerable adults; compliance with Social Security Act exclusions list.
  • Drug test: Must pass pre‑employment drug test.
