Overview

The Groomer is a commission-based position within the Resort, reporting directly to the General Manager. Ideal candidates are team players, self-motivated, receptive to feedback, excellent communicators, and detail-oriented. Experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats is essential. The primary goal is to ensure each pet receives a professional-quality groom that meets or exceeds client expectations without compromising their health.

A Day in the Life

You will make pets feel and look their best, helping maintain their health through grooming. Daily tasks include working with scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and boarding guests, performing full grooms, baths, and touch-ups, and managing emergency situations. You will communicate with pet owners, document observations, and may assist with cleaning and sanitation duties. Expect to handle various pet behaviors and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and gentle grooming to ensure a positive experience for pets.
• Complete grooming or bathing services according to client specifications and on schedule.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and client onboarding, including discussing vaccination requirements.
• Engage with clients post-groom to discuss results and recommend additional services.
• Maintain grooming tools and workspace cleanliness, adhering to sanitation standards.
• Monitor pet health during grooming, reporting concerns to management and owners.
• Follow safety procedures, especially with aggressive or escape-prone animals.
• Manage supplies and communicate needs to the team.
• Document pet information accurately and assist with departmental collaboration.

Qualifications

Education: Professional grooming certifications are preferred but not required.
