Job summary

Petco is hiring a Pet Stylist to provide expert grooming services for pets, including baths, trims, nail care, and ear cleaning. You will ensure safety and comfort while delivering high customer satisfaction and quality grooming.

You’ll work in a grooming salon with the team, maintain hygiene, operate grooming tools, educate pet parents on upkeep, and support training of junior staff as needed. Weekend/evening availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Completed Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco or equivalent grooming program
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to judge coat type, skin conditions, and temperament to tailor grooming
• Attention to detail and ownership of grooming tasks
• Strong communication with pet parents and team

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming: bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning
• Operate grooming tools (clippers, blades, brushes, dryers) safely
• Prioritize pet safety and comfort and report concerns to owners/store management
• Educate pet parents on at-home grooming and care routines
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and adhere to hygiene policies
• Assist/train trainees when needed
• Adhere to Petco grooming policies and standards
