Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Surgery Pro Fee Coder to perform quality surgical coding for orthopedic cases, including E/M. This full-time, 100% remote position requires proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding, knowledge of regulations, and experience with orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate surgical coding on orthopedic cases, including E/M.
• Maintain knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, regulations, and documentation guidelines.
• Ensure proper documentation and coding of services, seeking clarification when needed.
• Achieve 95% accuracy and high productivity, monitored via monthly reviews.
• Review and address the coding queue daily, communicate corrections, and handle re-bills.
• Respond to coding or billing questions promptly within eight hours.
• Code or pend charts within 24 hours, and notify if standards are not met.
• Maintain professional credentials and utilize Guidehouse resources daily.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the team to maximize efficiency and reimbursement.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma
• At least 3 years of physician coding experience, including IP and OP claims
• 2-3 years of orthopedic procedures coding experience
• Active CPC certification from AAPC
• EMR experience
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Strong knowledge of federal and state coding regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• COSC credential from AAPC
• 3+ years of orthopedic spine surgical coding
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Excellent communication skills
