Job description

SUMMARY

The Professional Maintenance Specialist will take the full responsibility for the at ready state of all equipment and supporting infrastructure for the Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company assets related to the production, Safety and Quality of the business focus.

The Professional Maintenance Specialist will perform professional services and repairs for all primary and support equipment. The Specialist will possess a high level of technical understanding within the concentrated technology, including operations, component life cycles, and activities required to maintain basic conditions. Will create training material specific to the technology, deploy training sessions and validate transfer of knowledge, within the production department. Schedule work that needs to be completed during non-production hours and support complete preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshooting of all aspects of the production equipment. The position will also be responsible for maintaining the parts inventory, and purchase orders to maintain the appropriate inventory and purchasing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain all operating procedures ensuring accuracy and followed with documentation of training.
  • Interface with all peers and production employees on the best practices and changes that would result in process improvements once approved.
  • Ensure the equipment logs are up to date and edited to include parts usage and history.
  • Participate in the reduction of waste and monthly inventory reconciliation of raw materials.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and facility to include programmable logic controls, mechanical power transmission, mechanical and electrical repairs on high and low control voltage including single and 3 phase power.
  • Implement preventive, predictive schedule to track completion of preventive, predictive work on equipment and facilities to avoid equipment down time and ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient follow-up on all outstanding requests for service.
  • Develop and train department employees to improve and sustain equipment up time as part of the documented daily routine.
  • Maintain accuracy of information used to support the Key Business Indicators with success measured by reduction in downtime and capacity utilization as shown on company reporting software.
  • Maintain the appropriate parts inventory, ensure timely invoice and PO matching, and submit for approval.
  • Be available for support of the plant operations to other crews and support/train the crew supervisors and operators.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results by reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, schematics, handbooks and other technical design documents.
  • Display excellent customer service skills, proven track record of detail orientated problem solving, trouble shooting and follow up.

COMPETENCIES

Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Utilize skills in Power Transmission, welding, fabrication, air and fluid power and control, electrical, and PLC programming and troubleshooting to enhance all aspects of production operations are properly maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, five (5) years in the performance of a high-speed production facility working with minimal supervision.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, compliance guidelines. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or members of the business community. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with ability to present information to management.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied both written and verbal format. Success to be measured against the metrics of Unscheduled Downtime, Equipment failures and Adherence to the production schedule.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical power transmission (motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains) and other mechanical equipment. Ability to use proven leadership skills and work in a team environment to mentor and train other employees including the use of tests to determine the amount of training needed. Will follow all Company/safety policies and procedures.
  • Other Qualifications: Five (5) years industrial maintenance experience. Six Sigma training. Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members. Continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing. Experience with controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, vision systems and sensors use and application.
