Job summary

NORTHERN CROSSARM COMPANY INC is seeking a reliable production operator in Wisconsin to join our team. You will operate heavy equipment, support the treatment process, and help ensure high-quality pressure treated lumber products.

This role offers a weekday 4-day schedule after probation, training provided, opportunities for advancement, and a strong benefits package including health insurance and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Lumber experience and knowledge.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of wood treatment processes helpful but not required (training provided).
• Supervisory experience a plus; growth into leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and treating cylinders (will train).
• Lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Rotate between kilns, treating cylinders, stacker equipment.
• Work independently and in a team.
• Learn and master activities necessary to produce high-quality pressure treated lumber products.
• Process work orders through production stages and update LumberTrack (inventory).
• Operate pressure treating cylinder using lumber treating software.
• Load/unload and operate direct-fire kilns.
• Troubleshoot issues during the treating process.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and treating cylinders (will train).
• Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Flexibility to rotate between different job centers (including kilns, treating cylinders, stacker equipment).
• Work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Learn and master activities necessary to produce high-quality pressure treated lumber products.
• Process work orders through various stages of production and update LumberTrack program (inventory) as necessary.
• Operate pressure treating cylinder using lumber treating software.
• Loading, unloading and operation of direct-fire Kilns.
• Trouble‑shoot issues during the treating process.
