Job summary

Ayres Associates Inc. in St. Paul, MN is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor/Project Manager to support growth of the Minnesota survey service line.

The role combines project leadership, client service, and collaboration with civil engineering, transportation, and MEP teams to deliver accurate surveys and dependable milestones. On any day you’ll develop scopes, estimates, and proposals; coordinate with clients; supervise survey and CAD technicians; perform QA/QC; and ensure safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, or a related field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Minnesota or ability to become licensed within 6 months
  • Ability to recognize and embrace new geospatial technologies.
  • 5–10 years of diverse field/office experience in survey, performing topographic surveys, construction staking, boundary surveys, right-of-way plats, and control surveys.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads, Trimble Business Center, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record required

Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to support expansion of Ayres survey service line while collaborating with existing team presence in civil engineering, transportation, and MEP divisions. On any given day, you'll:

  • Proven ability to monitor project budgets to a successful outcome, oversee project teams, and meet client expectations, schedule, scope, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in team environments.
  • Familiar with Mn DOT practices and requirements.
  • Ability to take direction from numerous individuals, and channel strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Desire and ability to become a licensed PLS in multiple states outside of Minnesota.
  • Networking and developing relationships with clients and peers in the survey profession.

Our good‑faith compensation approach is fair and equitable, and takes into consideration only permissible factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, training, skills, and experience, and geographic location where the work is performed. A salary range for this posting is $85000 - $115000. The foregoing salary range represents what the company believes, in good‑faith, it will pay for the posted opportunity. The individual selected for this role will be evaluated with the compensation factors in mind and placed appropriately.
