In this role, you will primarily work from the office or a home office in a hybrid capacity, providing oversight and technical direction to field crews performing control, boundary, topographic, and laser scanning surveys. Fieldwork and travel are occasional and typically limited to key project milestones, critical field phases, or quality oversight activities. A significant portion of the role involves post‑processing survey data using multiple software platforms and producing high‑quality deliverables that meet project scope, standards, and specifications using CADD. Working in partnership with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the technical execution of projects, applying your professional judgment and expertise to support successful project delivery.

Specific Tasks
  • Field crew setup
  • Geodetic control network planning, processing, and adjustment
  • Feature code processing of topographic field data in CAD
  • Generating, editing, and cleanup of Digital Terrain Models (DTM)
  • Title commitment review
  • Public records research
  • COGO calculations
  • Determination of land and right of way boundaries
  • Drafting of land survey plats, ALTA surveys, and topographic maps
  • Writing property descriptions
  • Obtaining permits
  • Obtaining right of entry
  • Developing and implementing quality control plans appropriate for tasks and deliverables
  • Working with PM to estimate hours to complete each task
  • Collaborating with a multi‑discipline team
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols
  • Working outdoors in variable weather conditions and varied terrain
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in applicable field
  • 5+ years’ experience in land surveying
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation ORD, or Trimble TBC
  • Experience with DOT standards and specifications (preferred but not required)
  • CST, LSI, or PLS certification (preferred but not required)
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Good social and communication skills
