Project Surveyor - PDX

At David Evans and Associates, Inc., our Surveying and Geomatics team seamlessly merges tradition with cutting‑edge technology. We provide a comprehensive suite of geomatics services, from aerial LiDAR and topographic surveys to construction surveys and BIM modeling. Our team prioritizes clear communication and client‑centric solutions to deliver precision and innovation.

We are seeking a Project Surveyor in Portland, OR, to guide the technical execution of projects ranging from boundary and topographic surveys to ALTA, right‑of‑way, and construction support. You’ll work directly with clients, internal teams, and field staff to ensure deliverables meet expectations and promote professional growth within your team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets for a variety of survey projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate field survey crew personnel and related scheduling.
  • Perform research and calculations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead QA/QC for deliverables across boundary, control, and construction‑related surveys.
  • Build and maintain client relationships within the region.
  • Coordinate with other DEA business units on integrated project delivery.
  • Mentor and support field and office staff to advance their development within the profession.
Required Qualifications
  • Oregon Professional Land Surveyor license, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and directing technical work.
  • Proficiency with CAD and land surveying software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads).
  • Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
