Job summary

R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to drive accuracy in land development and civil site design.

You will partner with engineers to move residential, commercial, and municipal projects from conception to completion. Lead boundary surveys to construction staking, mentor junior staff, and utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS/GNSS to deliver high-quality results. Licensure in SC or eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Licensed surveyor or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field.
• 2+ years of land surveying experience, ideally with land development and civil site design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS/GNSS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead surveying for land development and civil site work from boundary surveys to construction staking.
• Provide survey data that supports grading plans, utilities, stormwater systems, and roadway designs.
• Collaborate with civil engineers during planning, design, permitting, and construction.
• Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D for deliverables.

• Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D for efficient, high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor and guide junior staff while serving as a technical resource for project teams.

What We're Looking For

• Licensed surveyor or able to obtain licensure in South Carolina.
• Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in land surveying, ideally with land development and civil site design projects.
• Proficiency in surveying technology, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS/GNSS systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, clients, and stakeholders.
